The new Corvette Z06 is officially GM’s most powerful product as it finally announces the vital stats: 641bhp and 650lb ft from the supercharged LT4 6.2 V8. This means that the new model is not only more powerful than the previous one (of course it is), but it beats also the crazy C6 ZR1 as well, putting it on a par with true exotics, at least when engine figures are concerned. GM says that 0-60mph takes under 3.5sec.
Next week is already daft enough, what with the 2013 Tokyo and Los Angeles Motor Shows kicking off on the same day – Wednesday 20 November. Now it turns out there’s a third motor show happening at the same time, the 2013 Guangzhou Motor Show in China. And for some reason, Lexus has chosen Guangzhou to debut the revised CT200h hybrid hatchback.
Toyota is attempting the impossible: to make its Golf challenger more interesting. The new-for-2010 Toyota Auris receives a facelift inside and out, engineering tweaks to nudge CO2 downwards and a sportier model to lure in younger drivers. Good luck, Toyota…
Forgive us for sounding harsh, but CAR has never seen eye to eye with the Auris, dubbing it the ‘magnolia’ of the hatchback segment when we first drove it in 2007.
